A Story From the Chair

One of my long-time clients came in, ready for a change. She wanted "something different." Most stylists might ask a few quick questions, show some photos, and get started.

But I asked her to stand up. I brought out my mirror. I studied her face shape, her profile, her body type—she's petite with a fuller frame. Her hair fell below her shoulders, heavy and shapeless.

I explained how only ⅓ of her hair lives in the front—and that most of the design power lives behind the ears and crown, where the shape frames her silhouette.

We chose a length and shape that lifted her face, lengthened her neck, and gave her movement and joy.
